Cerebrum UI packages

We recently announced the official launch of the Cerebrum UI Packages. Thanks to the years of the experience the MI project team has with customizing and building Cerebrum UIs, we developed a set of premade Cerebrum user interfaces which already cover most of the required functionality many customers have in common.

Building and designing customized interfaces from scratch can take days, even weeks, and can cost a lot of professional services. With these UI packages you are good to go as soon as your system has been commissioned.

To properly offer these UI packages to your customers, we've published the following marketing material:

Please make sure that you always consult our SolAr team when you are going to offer UI packages to your customers.

Cerebrum v2.6

At the end of July, version 2.6 of Cerebrum will be released. In this release, we are introducing the new Resource Management option allowing facilities to better plan and manage their resources. By optimizing equipment and device allocations and reservations, it ensures each production is executed efficiently and with minimal waste. Another great new feature is logging to external system through Syslog. This allows you to integrate the Cerebrum event log into visualization tools like Grafana and link them to the logs of other devices like your IRDs or your network switches.

Of course, there are more great new features and improvements in this release, and we added a lot of new protocols and APIs to our extensive protocols list as well. Please check the latest Cerebrum product sheet for more details.

New Neuron Convert, Shuffle and View releases

Convert version 5.11 was released last month. This new major release of our most powerful media processing identity introduces three new features:

  • 5-field high quality deinterlacers (1 per 4x FHD processing paths, licensed per 2)
  • Adaptive HDR to HDR conversion (going from one HDR curve to another)
  • Static IP routing, allowing the user to specify which interface to send/route data to for an IP that is not in any of the subnets. This is especially beneficial for in-band control.

We’ve also released version 4.3.1 of the Shuffle identity. This new version of our Neuron based audio matrix contains the following improvements and features:

  • Support up to 4 MADI SFPs (64 audio channels each, licensed per activated SFP).
  • Support of single step PTP (previously only 2-step PTP was allowed)
  • Static IP routing, which is again especially beneficial for in-band control.

Last but not least, we’ve officially released the next version of View, our Neuron based multiviewer. This release contains a lot of improvements and new features, such as:

  • Live 1-seconds interval previews of each PiP inputs in the web-based interface
  • Full fledged snapshots feature, allowing you to save an entire multiview layout configuration and restore each saved screen layout to any head you like.
  • Import and export layout snapshots
  • Single wire UHD outputs (12G SDI or ST2110-20 single link)

As always, you can find detailed documentation about the latest versions of all Neuron identities in the respective datasheets. To get access to the software in the EVS download-area, please contact your EVS representative.

Neuron campaign

Since the end of May, we have been running a LinkedIn campaign on Neuron, where each week we focus on a specific identity of our Network Attached Processor. In case you would like to repost, you can find the first two examples here: Bridge and Convert.

To have a relevant call to action in these posts, we created landing pages for each identity. You can check them out here:

If you would like to get involved and participate in this Neuron campaign, we’ve made a special Channel Partner package available, which contains, among other things, the various campaign graphics, messaging guides, product pictures, product sheets, presentations and ordering information.

You can download this Channel Partner Package here.

We hope you can make good use of these webpages and all the campaign content we created, including new downloads (new Neuron brochure and separate data sheets with new block schematics), the social media posts and the Neuron Short videos we posted on our YouTube channel.

Thanks for reading,
the EVS team
